What is the heated length?
The length of the heating rods is 34 in (86 cm) and the lower 18 in (46 cm) is the heated length.
Can the immersion heaters be used in wet areas?
Yes- their IP rating is 54, which means they can withstand splashing water.
What is the advantage of an immersion heater compared to a wrap-around heater?
Performance tests show that the immersion heater, when coupled with a BriskHeat wraparound insulator, heated twice as fast as standard wrap-around heaters.
What makes the wrap-around insulators suitable for use in wet areas?
The outer material is made of water-resistant antimicrobial polyester cloth, and the insulation
is a closed-cell (water repelling) elastomer. Will the immersion heater contaminate the product in the IBC/tote tanks?
The immersion heater is constructed from Incoloy 840, which is a superalloy designed for excellent corrosion resistance and superior high-temperature performance, so there is very little risk of contamination. Care must be taken to ensure there is no foreign matter on the heater.
How do the insulators fit all circumferences between 160 in (4064 mm) and 192 in (4877 mm)?
The D-rings and straps that secure the insulators to the tanks are adjustable, and the insulators will partially overlap on smaller tanks.
Why should insulators be used in conjunction with immersion heaters?
Performance tests show that heat-up times when both are used together is 4 times faster than with immersion heaters alone. Insulators retain heat resulting in lower cost of operation. Additionally, heater/insulator systems can reach warmer temperatures, especially in cold environments.
